CIIT: The Philippines' Best Multimedia Arts School in the Making
Online, May 21, 2014 (Newswire.com) - A journey to success always starts somewhere. To CIIT, it started as a hatched idea — a path to collaboration and a method for success. From 21 students and 5 two-year diploma courses in 2008, it presently takes in about 500 students and offers two bachelor's degree programs, six diploma courses, double diploma programs, and a number of specialist courses for both young learners and industry professionals.
Humble Beginnings
As Anino Games was experiencing hits of the country's brain drain issues, its founder and chief executive officer, Niel Dagondon, decided to develop their own talents by establishing their very own digital arts school — CIIT.
The school initially offered two-year diploma courses including Software Engineering, Network Design, Multimedia Application, Computer Graphic Design, and E-business. The offerings were well received by students who were interested in the industry-based education and hands-on learning approach of CIIT.
As the school continuously aimed to improve the list of its course offerings, they have added the 3D Animation and Game Development courses after three years.
CIIT was initially tied up with Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University (KLMU), wherein students were given the option to continue their studies from the CIIT diploma courses and earn their bachelor's degree in Malaysia.
A Work in Progress
After developing their own curriculum and acquiring certification from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), CIIT started offering bachelor's degree programs in 2013. The said programs are Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts, with majors in Digital Graphics Design, Video and Motion Graphics, and 3D Visualization; and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, majors in Software Engineering, Network Design, and Game Development.
They also continue to offer diploma courses which are ladderized to their bachelor's degree courses. These diploma courses include Multimedia Arts, Game Development, Computer Graphics, 3D Animation, Software Engineering, and Information Technology. Double diploma programs are also available. CIIT also provided summer workshops and corporate trainings.
As CIIT continues to work on becoming the best multimedia arts school in the Philippines, they have made partnerships with various entities. Aside from Anino Games, their partners include Game Developers Association of the Philippines, Wacom, Autodesk, Adobe, and IBM Philippines.
