Children's Book Author Celia Banks Headlines Storytime Dinner for Kids and Parents

Fall Kickoff at historic First Presbyterian Church promises terrific storytelling and family fun

Lexington, Kentucky - September 15, 2009 - Children's book author Celia Banks will be the featured guest at First Presbyterian's Fall Kickoff event on Wednesday, September 16th, 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 171 Market Street. The Storytime Dinner will feature the author reading from her innovative and well-received God's Word is Just for Me Series. The event is free and open to the public.

"The setting for the event is the Sea of Galilee and will be a great time for food, fellowship and teachings for both adults and kids," Banks said. "Children and adults will have dinner, then all are invited to storytime."

In the God's Word is Just for Me Series, Banks has combined her extensive corporate experience with her love of children and literature to create a series of interactive, illustrated, children's books. Her method of using photographic textures provides a truly hands-on interactive learning tool for young children. The children will use the interactive activities in the God's Word Is Just For Me Series to improve reading skills, learn textures, and engage their environment and surroundings.

Banks' work has garnered the attention of Christian leaders, including Marilyn Hickey, founder and president of Marilyn Hickey Ministries. After reading Bank's first book "Jacob's Promise" formerly known as "I Got It" Hickey said, "As a grandmother and teacher of the Word, this book delights me! Celia Banks has created a beautiful storybook that blends key Bible truths with adorable animals in a captivating way. Children will love it...and learn important spiritual truths while they read. Every person with children in their life should consider this a must-have for their little ones."

"Through this series, your children will learn to trust in the promises of God and develop a love for Bible stories through this unique and innovative story-telling art form," Banks said.
