About Aunt Kitty’s Design

Aunt Kitty’s Design came into being in 2015 when Kristin Sathe could not find jewelry that spoke to her and those like her. Classifying herself a little bit bohemian, a dash of gypsy, a tad bit of hippy, and whatever else she was feeling that day she wanted to find jewelry that spoke to her. It had to versatile and easily transition between events. Nothing that she came across really suited her needs or her vision.

Kristin’s love of jewelry, gemstones, and accessories has been with her for a very long time. For quite sometime she has studied the healing and healthy properties associated with jewelry and essential oils. Their ability to affect change and give positive energy into her daily life is one she has a deep belief in. So much so that she started to attend gem and mineral shows to look and shop long before beginning her own line.

Creating jewelry has been therapy for Kristin as eleven years ago she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Her nervous system was hit very hard and it affected her coordination. Through her desire to create beautiful jewelry and a bit of stubbornness she has overcome what this awful disease tried to take away from her.

When others began to see the gorgeous jewelry that Kristin was creating they began asking for pieces for themselves. Her love for the natural world clearly comes through in her choice of natural gemstones and semi-precious stones as well as her craftsmanship. The purity of her heart goes even further as she brings her giving spirit into her new company as a portion of every sale goes to support the MonDak Humane Society and the MS Society.
