CCIP Calls for Host Company Applications

CCIP IS NOW ACCEPTING HOST COMPANY APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2010 PROGRAM

2010-01-10 - May 24, 2010 to July 9, 2010 (Session A)
July 12 to Aug 27, 2010 (Session B)

Taking place in New York every summer from May to August, CCIP (www.fusia.net/ccip) is an internship program is created to meet the growing demand for comprehensive internship experience that incorporates both professional skills and cross-cultural knowledge.

The program emphasizes East-West cultural exchange. It collaborates with local companies and partner universities (primarily from Asia) that share a global mindset and a strong interest in helping students who work hard to acquire work experience and cultural knowledge necessary for the global marketplace.

The program is aimed at students who demonstrate a global mindset, namely, the future global professionals. It is also for businesses or organizations that have a global perspective, vision, interest and/or presence, but most importantly, are willing to be a part of the effort in supporting the growth of the global generation and contributing to tomorrow's global marketplace. Because most program participants come from Asia, the program provides a special advantage to companies that have a particular interest in the overseas Asian market.

The program strives for quality. It only works with students nominated by its partner universities. In 2009, out of 874 student applicants, 412 passed the Stage 1 screening process and 100 went on to participate in the program.

Most students major in business, law and logistics. About 15% major in technical fields (such as engineering, web programming and graphic design). For internship classification, the program groups students into the five categories:

A: Accounting, Bookkeeping, Auditing
B: Financial Planning, Analysis, Investment
C: Marketing Research, Planning, Analysis
D: Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Language/Translation
E: General Business, Project, Program Assistance

Students make a substantial investment on their own (e.g. housing, visa application and sponsorship fees, plane tickets and etc.). The program would appreciate, though it is not mandatory, private host companies offer a stipend (on average, $525 for 7 weeks, which is about $15 per day) to cover the students' expenses such as transportation and meal.
