CASA Lake County Announces Debra Waller as 2018 Terri Zenner Award Honoree
VERNON HILLS, Ill., May 10, 2018 (Newswire.com) - CASA Lake County announced Debra Waller as the 2018 Terri Zenner Award Honoree. This annual award given by CASA Lake County recognizes those who have helped children’s causes and are leaders in the community. Waller is a fierce advocate for children, and the chairman and CEO of Jockey International.
“We are so pleased to honor Debra Waller with this award to recognize the difference she has made in the lives of children,” said Terri Greenberg, Executive Director, CASA Lake County. “Debra has passionately dedicated her time and talent to helping children grow up in a loving home, a mission she and CASA both share. She understands how critical it is for organizations like CASA to give a voice to children who aren’t able to advocate for themselves.”

Adopted herself in infancy, Waller made it her mission to help children. She founded Jockey Being Family, a corporate citizenship initiative committed to strengthening adoptive families for a successful future.
In celebration of outstanding service to children and the community, CASA's Board of Directors will also recognize Judge Margaret Mullen at the annual spring event. Judge Mullen was instrumental in helping to establish the CASA program in Lake County in 1993. After serving the people of Lake County for more than 25 years on the bench, Mullen retired earlier this year.
Nearly 300 volunteer advocates will also be celebrated at the annual event for the work they do to help abused and neglected children within the court system.
The awards will be presented at CASA Lake County’s spring gala, Saturday, May 12, 2018.
