Capstone Management Team Attends Bahamas Retreat

Several team members at Capstone Management had the pleasure of packing their sunscreen and swimsuits a short time ago. These hardworking associates were recently tapped to attend the company retreat in the Bahamas.

“This is the event we look forward to all year,” said Stephanie, Capstone Management’s director of operations. “We’re excited to be able to send team members to this tropical paradise for some well-deserved rest and relaxation along with great networking opportunities.”

Stephanie explained the annual, all-expenses-paid retreat was a two-pronged affair. “First, there were many industry leaders who attended,” she said. “Our Capstone Management associates were able to rub elbows with these individuals. They also had plenty of networking opportunities with people from other regions who were present.”

The second aspect of the trip was the relaxation portion. “After exceeding expectations, these top performers were able to enjoy time on the beach, basking in the sun, and playing in the surf,” Stephanie said. “The evenings were often filled with entertainment and wonderful group dinners. It was a delightful recognition of the efforts and dedication these team members put forth all year.”

This Bahamas trip was not the only company travel opportunity for which Capstone Management team members could qualify. “We send associates to quarterly leadership conferences,” Stephanie shared. “We also take road trips to different regions to exchange ideas and understand how operations work there.”

Capstone Management Director of Operations Shares Travel Tips

The Capstone Management team members travel frequently, and Stephanie noted that they have amassed quite a few favorite travel tips. “Flying can be a chore if you’re not prepared,” she shared. “Whenever possible, try to do carry-on luggage to save time. Just remember, it has to be able to fit in the overhead bin with other people’s luggage. If you’re last to board or someone else has a large bag, you may end up checking it at the gate.”

“At security, try to scan for which line is likely to move fastest and which line is likely to have holdups,” Stephanie continued. “For example, lines with business travelers wearing loafers suggest individuals who are frequent fliers and familiar with the routine. On the other hand, if you see multiple strollers, you’re looking at additional screening time.”

Stephanie also suggested that travelers organize themselves prior to boarding so they can slip into their seats faster. “Have everything you plan to use on the plane in one spot. That way you can quickly pull out of your carry-on, before you stow your luggage in the overhead bins,” she said. “You’ll be able to take your seat quickly and not block the aisles rummaging through your stuff.”

“To me, travel is one of the perks of working at Capstone Management,” Stephanie concluded. “It’s always exciting.”
