Cabaret Verite Bring Vintage Paris to Life at London's Pheasantry (27/09/2013)

Online, July 11, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Cabaret Verite bring their new show Rendez-Vous a Paris to The Pheasantry, Chelsea, on Friday 27 September, 2013. The quartet's cocktail of French chansons and sultry Argentinean Tangos recreates the headiness of Parisian cafes of the 30s and 40s.

For audiences who enjoyed their previous shows Soiree Parisienne and On the Banks of the Seine, expect many new gems as well as the much loved Piaf and Brel, Juliette Greco and Hot Club de France, Django and Tango classics.

Bethany Jameson, Cabaret Verite's lead singer has been named 'The UK's little sparrow' for her interpretations of the French chansons. Her award winning comedy lyrics, combined with Romano Viazzani's superb new compositions, are fresh, quirky and satirical.

Rated "full of colour" by the Times, the group also received a glowing endorsement from the queen of cabaret herself, Dillie Keane of Fascinating Aïda, who said "I rather loved you! Great musicians, great voice, great performance, engaging, glamorous, sophisticated. You're terrific!".

Their 2012 tour took them around the South West and much loved London cabaret venues: the Battersea Barge (where they were voted Audience Best Act and won the coveted Excess All Areas 'Cheese Platter'!), Green Note, the Pheasantry and to the National Theatre. In 2013, Cabaret Verite continue to tour the South West and perform at prestigious London venues including Southbank Centre.
