"Build a New India of Oneness & Self-Consciousness": Dr Subramanian Swamy
Jalandhar, April 29, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Former Cabinet Minister & from now onwards six term Member of Parliament, Harvard Ph.D, Professor of Economics Dr Subramanian Swamy visited Lovely Professional University and delivered inspirational messages to students & staff members to lead India to be number one once again in the world. Occasion was inaugural speaker series of LPU on “My Work, My Life” where top speakers will be invited to motivate students. During his two- hour address, Dr Swamy kept audience spell bound through his great intellectual thoughts yet straight from his heart. He informed about his opting economics & mathematics as loving subjects, journey to Harvard University as a Ph D Scholar and a Professor, and back in India as a politician or social reformer. Appreciating LPU as the most model University of India, he anticipated that with such educational institutions the intellectual capacity of India will be strongly recognized world over.
Guiding the students, Dr Swamy asked students: “Give up all kinds of divisions, we are all one people. By working hard, together and with better conceptualizations, we are on the verge of seeing India as a developed country. Build a new India of oneness and self consciousness.” Talking about equality and emancipation of women he invoked all male students to take a pledge not to accept dowry at any cost. He also advised students to take risks and accept challenges for better career by transforming problems into solutions. Advising the teaching staff-members, Dr Swamy asked them to make their students more interactive and to always encourage them for problem solving activities. He asked them to adopt ancient India’s “Gurukul” traditions where pupils always worked on projects.
Prior to this, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal welcomed Dr Swamy and congratulated him for his nomination by the President of India as Rajya Sabha Member. Informing about his multi-faceted personality with revolutionary and successful outcomes, Mr Mittal said: “I am happy to share that entire LPU community is enthralled to have great advices from a great teacher like him. His life experiences and sharing thereof will certainly mould LPU youth into real human beings and good global citizens.”
During interactive session he forwarded academic values as to be punctual; not to make contracts which can’t be kept; and, be contractual. Telling about economic growth, he said that it is not more capital or labour usage, it is innovation altogether. For foreign countries, he shared that India should always be independent in its thoughts and practices to have all countries along with. India must have independence within for doing so. Imbibing great doings of foreign countries, India can get transformed in no time with framing of good policies for different problems.
