Award-winning Game Invades Mobile Phone Platform for the First Time

Four powerhouse media bodies reached an agreement that will pave way for the music and rhythm game Rock Band to be played on mobile phones before the year ends.

On a news article written by Chuck Johns for www.ringtonesmash.com, Verizon Wirelss has finally come in terms with EA Mobile (an Electronic Arts department), Harmonix and MTV Games to produce a specially-optimized Rock Band version that will be available on mobile phones powered by Verizon Wireless.

Rock Band, a music video game that materialized through the creative minds of people from Harmonix Music Systems with help from MTV Games and Electronic Arts, was originally being played in the Xbox, Playstation, PSP and Wii platforms. It combines the gameplay of Harmonix's previous creations which are Guitar Hero and Karaoke Revolution.

"Rock Band mobile gives our customers with feature phones yet another siper-cool game to play and another way to use wireless phones for entertainment." said Ryan Hughes, Vice President of Verizon's partner management and business development department during an interview. "Rock Band is an iconic game, and we're excited to be working with EA to be the first to bring it to mobile customers." he further noted.

Meanwhile, an executive from Electronic Arts expressed excitement of the game's entry into mainstream culture as he described it to be a "cultural phenomenon".

This recent merger created added dimensions for the field of mobile gaming. Since Rock Band Mobile can be played just about anywhere at any time, it has developed more avenues of technology that is music-friendly and thus, make a bigger impact.
