Alane Byrd's New Book "Hope Deferred" is an Intense Memoir Depicting a Life of Increasing Hopelessness and Despair Miraculously Recast Through God's Saving Grace.

Recent release "Hope Deferred" from Covenant Books author Alane Byrd is an intimate portrait of hope (or lack thereof), told through the true story of an unhappy wife and mother of six who faces a life of disappointed expectations and a near-fatal illness, only for God's promises to come through miraculously in the midst of the battle for her life.

Alane Byrd, a mother of six, grandmother of six, and wife of thirty-plus years who works as an engineering designer and loves to travel, has completed her new book, “Hope Deferred”: a moving autobiography of an afflicted mother’s battle for retaining hope.

Alane shares, “Everything seemed to be part of such a spiritual battle. In every direction I turned, more stress was added, and there seemed to be a roadblock everywhere I turned in getting help. About a week or two after the play ended, my right eye was not only irritated, but my eyelid started to droop and would only open halfway. I talked to Charlie about it. He just brushed it off. But to my children, my friends, and  myself, the difference was considerably noticeable.

I decided to see a doctor anyway—something I typically avoided. I didn’t have a general physician for myself because I hadn’t a need of one for years—with the exception of an ob-gyn, of course. On the advice of one of my friends, I made an appointment with her family doctor. I should have prayed about that. In considering whether the battles we fight are spiritual or not, one can only attribute so much to coincidence.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Alane Byrd’s new book is a powerful reminder of God’s timing and a startling portrait of heartache when hope’s well runs dangerously dry.

Byrd’s story runs the full gamut from a bright, promising start descending to an all-out spiritual battlefield where the odds are stacked against her and the first casualty is the one thing she needs most—hope.

Readers can purchase “Hope Deferred” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.
