2016 NUC Sports National High School Top 25 -Week 4- per Source NUCSportsMag.com
New York, NY, September 4, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Three ranked teams gave way to the loss column this past week; two of which fall completely out of the Top 25. Corona Centennial (Calif.) fell 50-49 in the waning moments of the game to IMG Academy (Fla.). With the loss the Huskies drop to #18.
Westlake (Texas) played without star quarterback Sam Ehlinger and ended up losing 21-14 to Liberty (Nev.) while Don Bosco Prep (N.J.) was shut out 21-0 by American Heritage (Fla.). The Chaparrals and the Ironmen are now out of the Top 25.
"Moving into the Top 25 for the first time are Colerain (Ohio) and Cathedral (Ind.). The Cardinals knocked off rival St. Xavier (Ohio) 20-14 in overtime and move into the Top 25 at #23. The Fighting Irish had no problems knocking off Mishawaka (Ind.) 41-20 and find themselves at #24 in the latest NUC Sports National High School Poll. "

Moving into the Top 25 for the first time are Colerain (Ohio) and Cathedral (Ind.).
Sophomore running back Deondrick Glass of Katy (Texas) is the NUC Sports National High School Top 25 Player of the Week. Glass carried the ball 29 times for 250 yards and five scores in the Tigers 50-49 2OT win over Klein Collins (Texas).
There is no matchup bigger than #1 Bishop Gorman (Nev.) at #3 St. John Bosco (Calif.). The winner will definitely be the top ranked team in the country next week. The Gaels have outscored their two opponents, Cedar Hill (Texas) and Cocoa (Fla.), by a combined score of 90 to 24. The Braves have yet to render any points in their first two games downing St. Xavier (Ohio) and La Mirada (Calif.) by the same score 34 to 0.
Other great matchups that could shake up the Top 25
#6 Manvel (Texas) (2-0) at Pearland (Texas) (2-0)
#7 American Heritage-Plantation (Fla.) (2-0) at Miami Northwestern (Fla.) (2-0)
#8 Allen (Texas) (2-0) at Coppell (Texas) (2-0)
#14 John Curtis (La.) (1-0) at West Monroe (La.) (1-0)
#21 St. Joseph’s Regional (N.J.) (1-0) vs. St. John’s Collegiate (DC) (2-0)
#22 Bingham (Utah) (3-0) vs. West Jordan (Utah) (3-0)
Just a reminder on how the NUC FCS National High School Top 25 works. In order to win the NUC National Championship a team must be unbeaten and win a State Title. Secondly teams that do not take part in a State Playoff system are ineligible for making the Top 25.
