2016 Host Family in Excellence Winners With Go Au Pair
Salt Lake City, Utah, September 15, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Au Pairs around the country showed up with their best essays, many of them attempting to write them in English, their second language - for a chance to prove their Host Family should be nominated for the grand prize in Go Au Pair’s 2016 Host Family in Excellence.
In this year’s Host Family in Excellence, the judges turned the vote over to families and friends of the Au Pairs and Host Families. They were enlisted on social media to weigh in on the finalist. In the end the votes were counted and they choose a family of physician parents to triplets who still seem to find time to help their Au Pair pursue her dreams on their time off.
"I have never asked for such a wonderful family. I will always remember them, because they are stuck in my heart. I am so happy that they made my time in the U.S incredible."
Tuyet Nga Ngo, Au Pair
The Kline Family from Virginia started bringing in Au Pairs after their triplets were born and found out the task of childcare was a little too much for grandma to leverage. They have been an excellent family to their Au Pair Tuyet Nga Ngo who said, “I have never asked for such a wonderful family. I will always remember them, because they are stuck in my heart. I am so happy that they made my time in the U.S incredible. Thanks for giving me positive vibes, a right kick in my butt for my future, and simply the love you guys gave to me.”
The two runners up in Go Au Pair’s Host Family in Excellence this year was Appleton family of Pennsylvania and the Peterson family of Alaska. The Appletons were nominated, by Luiz Benzoni from Brazil and he says the Appletons treat him like family, are respectful of his space and actually invited his family from Brazil to stay with them during their trip to the U.S.
The Peterson’s Au Pair Adriana Lopez from Columbia said, “They are giving me the strength necessary to break down my fears and trust again in good actions without the feeling that something bad is going to happen after. They have given me affection and love.”
With so many family and friends of Au Pairs getting a chance to read up on the Au Pair/Host Family experiences they probably picked up the overarching theme in the essays - Au Pairs are more than just nannies. They are part of the family.
