Growth boomed in 2010, but it had already slowed as the year came to an end. The inventory cycle was filled and chip sales as a percentage of electronics had reached peak values. Chip prices were weak in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, but they turned in the first week of December. New products, like tablets, fueled hyper-growth levels in 2010. Tablets went from 0 to $1B in 8 months flat. Chips soared as a result, with MPUs rising 25%, DRAMs 72%, and flash 40%.
