Dr. Abel served as a member of the Board of the American Academy of Audiology, chaired the Academy's Coding and Reimbursement Committee, served as a member of the Academy's Ethical Practice Board and was a member and past Chair of the Ohio Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology. She is an Athena Award recipient
