1 Book for 1 Boy Becomes 100 Titles for Kids All Across the United States
As we enter football season and prepare for the World Series, one very determined entrepreneur has been growing her business from 1 gift for 1 young sports fan, who needed entertainment during a long hospital stay, to over 100 titles reaching kids all across the U.S. this year. Starting in 2011 with a hand-made book for a young sports fan during his long-term hospitalization after getting hit by a car, Darla realized that sports activities books could both entertain and educate children and their families.Miles, the young fan, is fine now and attends book signings with Hall. Darla’s one book for one boy has become In the Sports Zone’s (ITSZ) GO Series Sports Activities Books.
The 30 Major League Baseball Sports Activities Books launching now join the current sets for all 32 NFL teams and for 34 college teams. The GO Series has grown dramatically from two books — University of Alabama and Auburn — that first year to 13 books in year two to 52 books in 2014. At 96 titles now, ITSZ will reach 100 titles by the end of 2015.
I never envisioned my gift idea for one little boy growing into a business that would create hundreds of different team activity books for children across the U.S. I have been blessed to get to know many children in hospitals who are courageous and strong. They inspire me to work hard every day to build on what I started as one gift.
