The International Academy of Design & Technology - Tampa Hosts its 25th Annual IMAGINE Fashion Show and Design Expo

This show will feature designs by 50 IADT - Tampa fashion design students and alumni and will air in December on WMOR TV32. Tickets are available through the IADT-Tampa bookstore or by calling 813-889-3400.

Blending creativity and 25 years of fashion show experience, the International Academy of Design & Technology-Tampa (IADT-Tampa) will present its 25th annual IMAGINE fashion show Saturday, Oct. 23. Held in the grand ballroom of the historic Coliseum in St. Petersburg, the evening begins with a design expo at 5:00 p.m. with the runway show following at 8:00 p.m. Miss Tampa, Allison Martin, will serve as the event emcee.

The show will feature 250 professional designs, created by 50 IADT-Tampa student and alumni designers and will be based on a progression of lifestyle and silhouette. Starting with men's and women's garments inspired by the trendy steam punk movement, the designs will move from day to swim to resort to club, then become more refined as they transition from cocktail to evening.

"The IMAGINE show is an opportunity to highlight some of our most talented students and alumni," said Karen O'Donnell, IADT-Tampa president. "The artistic theme reflects a modern view of the future, and I'm excited to see the product of months of hard work and dedication."

The evening will begin with a free design expo at 5:00 p.m. featuring multi-media presentations from the many talented IADT-Tampa students of the audio production, interior design, advertising design, graphic design, digital media production, post production, digital movie production, professional photography, game production and animation programs. As the evening continues, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a "text-your-favorite designer" campaign that will result in a series of "Best of Show" awards that will be announced in December when the show airs on WMOR TV32.

This year, IADT-Tampa will partner with 'My Hope Chest,' a local non-profit organization focusing on the issue of breast reconstruction for uninsured breast cancer survivors. The final scene of the fashion show will feature the "Pink Party" dress collection, from Westfield Citrus Park's Oct. 2 charity fundraiser that raised money for breast cancer awareness.

Tickets are available through the IADT-Tampa bookstore or by calling 813-889-3400. General admission tickets are $25 and VIP tickets are $50. VIP tickets include a pre-show reception as well as seating in the front rows. For more information on the Design Expo and the Imagine 2010 Fashion Show, please visit www.tampafashiondesignexpo.com.

There will be approximately 30 professional runway models from Benz Modeling Agency and a myriad of event volunteers provided by Toni & Guy. This innovative production by Directions Media will include state of the art technology and entertainment.
