Confession Letter Names Murderer of Tupac Shakur - Published in Tupac:187
In 1998, a confession letter was given to a Fox 11 Journalist naming the murderer of rapper Tupac Shakur. That letter along with the Journalist's statement is published in the explosive book, Tupac:187 by RJ Bond, Michael Douglas Carlin, and Russell Poole.
los angeles, ca, April 6, 2015 (Newswire.com) - The definitive book on the murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls, Tupac:187, includes a confession letter that was given to Los Angeles based Fox 11 Journalist, Chris Blatchford, in 1998. Back then investigators had no interest in pursuing the letter as they lacked the political will to solve the cases.
When the letter was given to LAPD in June of 2014 by former lead investigator of the murders, Russell Poole, it was with the express understanding that the information in the letter be investigated. "I thought LAPD would do the right thing and they gave me assurances that they would," said Poole. Instead the letter was leaked and appeared on the website of an Internet Anarchist. Six days later, Suge Knight was shot in a West Hollywood night club.

The confession letter details a plot to kill both Tupac Shakur and Suge Knight on September 7th, 1996. According to the letter, insiders at Death Row Records were behind the plot. At the time Death Row Records was worth over a billion dollars.
When the letter was written many of the witnesses and associates of Death Row Records were being murdered. According to a statement by Blatchford that is included in Tupac:187, one of the shooters feared he would be the next one murdered prompting the letter to be written and telephone conversations with Blatchford that included details about the murder that only the shooters would know.
The murders happened nearly 20 years ago and police have almost no interest in solving the crimes because they appear to be Gang Related. That has not deterred Poole from continuing his investigation. Poole cites the famous oath of the homicide investigator noting that when any human life is taken every resource should be brought to bear in order to solve the crime and bring the murderers to justice without discrimination for any reason.
"Tupac:187 has the clues to solve the crime," says co-author RJ Bond known for the Tupac Assassination documentaries. Russell Poole, adds, "In the Ennis Cosby case we saw the justice system fully function leading to an arrest, prosecution, and conviction. If Tupac and Biggie fans would continue to gather clues and apply political pressure this case could also be cleared."
Says the book's co-author, Michael Douglas Carlin, known for his documentary film American Federale, "Russell Poole is an American hero because he stood against corruption at LAPD by exposing it with the help of the media. That led to the Rampart scandal prompting the Federal Government's consent decree and structural changes inside of LAPD that continue to impact the department. Only a small part of the LAPD corruption was exposed. It is now time that all of that corruption come to light to bring closure to the many families affected by previous corrupt police officers.
