Yummy Cupcakes Opens First Franchised Location in San Diego

Gourmet bakeshop will make its debut July 2 in Encinitas

America's Finest City is in for a treat this July as it welcomes a cupcake concept that continues to satiate the gourmet dessert scene. Yummy Cupcakes, the Los Angeles-based gourmet cupcake and cupcake treats Bakeshop serving an eclectic variety of cupcake desserts, will open its first U.S. franchised location at 1514 Encinitas Blvd. in Encinitas this summer.

With a concept dating back to 2004 and over 400 recipes of signature flavors, Yummy Cupcakes will call the San Diego coast its latest "treat spot." This bakeshop marks the brand's seventh shop, adding to its three Los Angeles locations and three international stores.

"It's been clear to us from day one that Yummy Cupcakes is in a category of its own," said Shannon Mahoney, Yummy Cupcakes' Director of Operations. "We're celebrating this opportunity to bring San Diego true gourmet cupcake treats this town has yet to taste."

Not straying from a successful technique in L.A., the San Diego shop's one-of-a-kind products will be baked in-house, offering 26 flavors daily, ranging from Chocolaty Salty Caramel, Pineapple Whip and Banana Split, to more traditional flavors including Red Velvet, Vanilla Bean and Chocolate/Chocolate to the wild and crazy like Mango Lime Chili Salt, Green Tea Wasabi and Beet and Goat Cheese. In addition to the artisan gourmet cupcakes, the bakeshop will dazzle patrons with its Cupcakes in a Jar, Cupcake Truffles®, Cupcake Push Pops, Cupcakie Pies, Cupcake Parfaits and more. Guests with dietary restrictions can also enjoy these gourmet cupcake treats with the option of sugar free, Glute-Less and vegan choices.

The chic retail store, with raspberry pink and chocolate brown adorned walls, will feature an open-air kitchen where guests will experience a procession of preparing, baking, filling, frosting and decorating to present a variety of fresh treats for customers to select from.

Catering to all age groups with simple to sophisticated tastes, the Yummy Cupcakes' team expects that many customers will buy cupcakes and specialty treats by the dozen and that a majority of the business will come from special orders for private events including weddings, birthdays, charity galas and more. With normal business hours Monday - Saturday, the shop will be open on Sundays exclusively for private parties and catering preparation.

Joining Shannon Mahoney and Renato Cautela as partners of the San Diego Yummy Cupcakes is Michael Mahoney and Dana Mahoney, all with vast business backgrounds.
