World music Singer/Songwriter Makes Music History

World music took a giant leap forward in Australia when MKF's debut single 'Like the River' reached number one on ARIA pop charts Oct 3 2009.

In March 2009 Mahmood was the first ever Pakistani artist to perform all original songs at the Sydney Opera House and now becomes the first singer/songwriter from the Sub continent to have cracked the mainstream Australian pop charts. 'Like the river' was recorded Live at the Sydney Opera House and is the Most viewed video on Youtube with over 150000 views in just 5 days and reached Number one on the ARIA pop charts.

Under the brand name of MKF Mahmood has been promoting his messages of peace through his music for the last ten years and his latest single Like The River was written to help promote and foster communal harmony in Australia.

Mahmood has been influenced by singer songwriters Barry Gibb, Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison, Aziz Mian Qawal and collaborated with acclaimed world music artist Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, on his last album 'Only One 'which went on to sell 6 million copies worldwide.
