The World Education Foundation (WEF), an international non-profit organization which bridges the gap between effective solutions and future societies, and Global HRD Institute( affiliated sub-organization of Korea HRD Industry Association) have announced collaboration on an innovative platform which provides South Korean youth(14-28) with skills training in leadership, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness, along with mentorship to develop future leaders.

The new joint program will transform education opportunities for South Korean youth. Our model is delivered through practically-trained teachers and empowered University mentors. WE:LABS goal is to make this innovative education, and skills-based model part of the national education system.

"We are committed to the development of a skilled youth population; developing new pathways in education and employment which are reflective of the fast-changing world we live in. Education empowers youth to better their lives and create economic growth in local communities within South Korea."

Global HRD Institute President Sang Hyup Lee said, "the partnership with WEF is an important validation for the current need for a more innovative and practical approach to educating our youth to be future leaders. WE:LABS comprehensive education program is an opportunity for South Korean youth to transform their future through education.”

WE:LABS are intensive learning labs assisting Korean youth in transforming their economy and future. WE:LABS provides University level courses in entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership and business management. WE link youth to education and internship opportunities, while teaching practical skills  and the importance of developing emotional and relational skills. Students become empowered to improve their lives. It’s not just the courses we are teaching but the entire thought process in what it takes to architect a future that is able to cope with rapid changes.

“WEF is pleased to partner with Global HRD Institute and provide educational and employment programs for youth in South Korea,” said Shauna Sexsmith, Program Manager, MENA/Asia for WEF. “We are committed to the development of a skilled youth population; developing new pathways in education and employment which are reflective of the fast-changing world we live in.
