The match will have Rashad Evans facing off against Tito Ortiz. Evans is the former light heavyweight champion and should be booed heavily as he makes his way to the ring on the night of the 6th. He has become the Ultimate Fighting Championship's biggest villain. How that happened is beyond Evans but he accepts it and says it is what it is. Their bout will be a rematch of draw they battled to in 2007 and will mark the sixth time out of the last eight bouts that Evans has had to fight against a former or reigning champion in the light heavyweight division.
In those seven fights previous to Evans record is 5-1-1. And that includes a knock out of Forrest Griffin to take the light heavyweight title in 2008. Evans had been scheduled to face Phil Davis in the main event but then Davis, who is undefeated, had to withdraw when he suffered a knee injury. But Ortiz was quickly selected to fill in for the injured Davis and now the card is even more intriguing due to the Evan and Ortiz past. Originally Ortiz said he would not be able to fight and less than 24 hours later he pulled a change of heart and said he was ready.
