Video Company Claims "Nobody Needs Video"

Nobody needs video. What they need is clear, direct communication that gives a visitor and unequivocal understanding of how to experience a website, the pages to visit, the steps to take and which order is the best.

Live On Page has been an industry leader in video spokesperson technology for over three years, with a sophisticated SAAS delivery of their footage to millions of viewers each month. This makes their message even more confusing. Their President and chief video strategist, Dr. Joe Schaefer says "Nobody needs video on their website... what they need are results. People don't go to the internet to watch annoying sales videos. They go for quick access to information. In which case, a sales video is just plain annoying".
The Live On Page approach is all about communicating a website's benefits and most critical content quickly and with ultimate clarity. By reducing hype, cliches and typical ad-speak, their approach is getting noticed. Whereas most video spokesperson is used to attract attention in a flashy or glitzy way, Scott Martin CEO says "Our script-writing department creates scripts that keep viewers watching at least 80-90% of the message length on average. That is huge considering most website owners had a very high website bounce rate before we installed Live On Page."
A recent Columbia University study showed that websites with video have a 30% higher conversion, but the Live On Page team finds that their clients double or triple their conversion rates. The concept that the content is much more important than the technology was Championed by the ground-breaking book Cluetrain Manifesto, (Authors, Rick Levine, Christopher Locke, Doc Searls, David Weinberger , and McKee Jake). That book shook up the marketing world and predicted that the maturing generation would be impervious to hype and ad-speak and would only respond to transparency and clarity. Dr. Schaefer says, "Not only did the message of Cluetrain resonate with our own ideas, but our results have proven it over and over again when we measure every important aspect of website performance. Bounce rates drop, visit time increases, more pages get visited, and more people complete response forms or buy things. The change is instant after Live On Page is installed".
It seems that Live On Page, by saying 'Nobody Needs Video', is arguing against the use of their very own core product. However, after deeper investigation they are in fact saying that website video by itself, without meaningful content, will actually hurt website performance. Scott Martin CEO adds, "Nobody needs video. What they need is clear, direct communication that gives a visitor and unequivocal understanding of how to experience a website, the pages to visit, the steps to take and which order is the best."
