Vargo Announces Titanium Cookware That Utilizes Steam Heat
Vargo Outdoors, manufacturer of titanium-based backpacking gear, announces the development of a new ultralight titanium cooking system, the TI-BOILER. Intended for hiking and backpacking, the Ti-Boiler captures steam to heat food.
Online, January 19, 2011 (Newswire.com) - With most backpacking cookware, it is difficult to distribute heat evenly due to the thin material typically used in backpacking pots. However, the Ti-Boiler (which consists of a 900 ml mug and a 400 ml pan) is uniquely designed so that the bottom of the pan is slightly crimped to nest to the top of the mug. Using steam from the mug below, food in the pan is then able to be heated evenly. The system prevents more sensitive food from burning and is able to heat various sauces without the typical splattering mess.
Because of its titanium construction, the Ti-Boiler is ultra-lightweight yet incredibly strong. Both the mug and pan feature folding handles for compact storage. The unit comes with a mesh sack and weighs only 6.6 ounces.
