Attorney Michael Morris of Valensi Rose, PLC is a panelist at the California Copyright Conference's panel discussion, "Show Me the Money II: Financial Strategies for Copyright Stakeholders," on March 20, 2012 at the Sportsman's Lodge Hotel in Sherman Oaks, California.

"Music publishing is a profitable long-term business if managed well," Mr. Morris states. "In these challenging economic times, it is important for writers, publishers, artists or attorneys in the music industry to know how to hedge against a downturn in copyright values, raise cash, minimize taxes and protect the heirs."

United States copyright law can be extremely complicated. It is important that anyone with an interest in a musical composition, including artists, heirs, music publishers, and administrators, have not only a basic understanding of the key aspects of the law in order to effectively protect and exploit their musical property, but also the complex financial aspects of how to exploit multiple opportunities afforded by the music publishing business.

Other panelists on the California Copyright Conference's panel include Cheryl Hodgson, Esq., Music Attorney and Past President, California Copyright Conference; Cedar Boschan, Partner at Hurewitz, Boschan & Co. LLP; Joseph Rust, CPA, CFP, Partner at Prager and Fenton LLP; Sara Qazi, Financial Advisor, Guided Portfolio Manager, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC; Curtis Vega, Senior Vice President, Media & Entertainment, HSBC Private Bank; and David Renzer, former Chairman & CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group.

Mr. Morris, past president of the California Copyright Conference, has been named a "Super Lawyer" among Southern California lawyers for seven consecutive years, from 2006 through 2012. He was also designated by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of "L.A.'s Top 100 Lawyers" in 2009. His clients include Grammy winners and other recording artists, record labels, production companies and music composers.

The event will be held at the Sportsman's Lodge Hotel at 12825 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA on the evening of Tuesday March 20, 2012.
