Utah Student Winner of BusRental.com Scholarship
The results are in for BusRental.com's biannual college student travel essay contest for the 2019 fall semester
NEW YORK, July 9, 2019 (Newswire.com) - BusRental.com, a US Coachways company, is pleased to announce the winner of its most recent travel essay contest that ended June 15, 2019. The winner is Rebecca Dabelko from Layton, Utah. She wrote her essay about travel to U.S. National Parks. Miss Dabelko will receive a $1,000 scholarship to defray the costs of her education. She is a senior at Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she is majoring in special education and elementary education. She plans to graduate in 2020.
Sal Ciaravino, director of sales for US Coachways, stated, “The number of entries in our biannual travel essay contest has continued to grow.” He added, “We began our travel essay competition in the fall of 2017. For the spring 2019 contest, we had 220 entries, an increase of more than 50 percent than the previous contest."
BusRental.com offers two scholarships each academic calendar year, one for the fall and one for the spring semester. Essays of 700-1,000 words must be about a travel-related experience or topic. Eligibility for the one-time scholarship requires that entrants are enrolled at an accredited university at the time of the essay submission. The funds must be used to pay the costs of tuition. The right to receive and/or use the funds cannot be assigned to another person. The student must be enrolled for the semester for which the scholarship is awarded.
