USSSA Teams with My Sports Dreams To Help Affiliated Teams Raise Money
Online, March 26, 2011 (Newswire.com) - My Sports Dreams, one of the nation's leading sports fundraisers, is proud to announce a partnership with the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) to help teams competing under the USSSA umbrella raise money for tournament travel, equipment, and gear.
Formed in Wisconsin in 1968, the USSSA sanctions leagues and tournaments in more than a dozen sports, ranging from the youth level all the way up to adult slow-pitch softball. Most notably, the USSSA are big sponsors of baseball and softball - both fastpitch and adult slow-pitch - with their efforts culminating annually in National Championship Tournaments held at Walt Disney World in Orlando.
My Sports Dreams specializes in assisting athletic programs at every level nationwide, and to date they've helped nearly 25,000 total teams and organizations raise thousands of dollars for operating expenses without selling or spending more than a few minutes on the effort.
While the official partnership is a new venture for both groups, My Sports Dreams is already quite familiar with the USSSA and its affiliates.
"We've worked with quite a large number of teams over the years that needed to raise funds to travel to USSSA Tournaments throughout the country, including Nationals," said My Sports Dreams Vice President of Youth Marketing and Partnerships Chris Weiller. "Now, by officially teaming with the nation's largest governing body of youth sports, we'll be able to help many more compete under their umbrella."
"My Sports Dreams has been a big boost to our mission of helping athletes of all ages in all sports compete at a high level," added USSSA CEO and Executive Director Don DeDonatis, "and we look forward to a long and prosperous partnership."
The USSSA's youth sports market - which numbers more than 65,000 teams and 1.5 million participants in just baseball and fastpitch softball alone - is one in particular that the fundraising giant is looking forward to aiding.
"Funding for athletics in general is tight these days, and the youth and elite travel teams often take a hard hit because they don't have a league, community, or school district budget backing them," added Weiller. "Teaming with the USSSA will help more of these teams reach their goals and let more athletes get a head start on future success."
