USABFA Stepfamily Advocacy Group To Shape Elections & Leadership. Giant Demographic Emerges.

USABFA, the Blended Family advocacy group, launches effort to inform & grow awareness in the political arena. USABFA serves the 20+ million stepfamily households in America. Associatiom exists to 'unite, serve and advocate' for blended families.

Kansas City, MO - In a potentially election shaping announcement, a demographic formerly 'under the radar' with a voting block of over 50 million voters has emerged. USABFA - United States of America Blended Family Association - distributed an "Open Letter to the 2012 Candidates" for the purpose of placing into the national political debate a unique set of governing issues impacting this growing demographic. USABFA released a short yet eye opening poll being distributed to all candidates. USABFA also placed it on their website at: www.usabfa.com

Research shows that during the term of the next U. S. President, blended family households will become the most common form of family residence in America. More Americans are part of step-family situations today - over 150 million people - than those that voted in the last presidential election.

"To protect family life and children, strengthen marriages and provide support for blended families and single parents, we believe that our elected leaders must act to support and strengthen the family," cited Dan Snell, CEO of USABFA. "People don't enter marriage ever thinking they will fail, and will have to start over again. Yet if they do, the dynamics, especially when children are involved, can be life shocking. Our association seeks to "Unite, Serve and Advocate" for this 150+ million population, and create a sense of community."

Snell and USABFA Chief Marketing Officer Michael Hillebrand are finalizing plans to further their presence in Washington DC in order to grow awareness and impact the national debate, and issues, that affect blended families. "It is vital that with more than 60% of elected leader's constituency walking through these dynamics, that consideration for understanding step-family dynamics exist. Blended Families are clearly a 'large new voting block' in the political arena," Snell shared.

USABFA is working to engage, enlist and encourage blended families, single parents, families with adoptions, widows, and divorced citizens who may need various forms of resources and support. USABFA will educate elected officials at all levels of government, and in the business community, to recognize the size, scope and dynamics of the demographic.

At the current rate of membership growth, USABFA leadership expects the association to have a 'surprising impact on election day 2012' and 'corporate buying power in the market' according to Snell.
