Scour your records, such as tax filings, revenue statements, balance sheets, and other available data to ensure you know exactly where you stand.”

“As we began our discussion about possible expansion here at Urban Focus, we first had to make sure it was the best option for us,” Lauren continued. “While taking risks is great, they should always be strategic. No manager should blindly jump into a decision as big as expansion without thorough assessment.”

Lauren pointed out that just because a business thrives at one location, it’s dangerous to assume it would be as successful someplace else. She indicates that it’s imperative to research targeted consumers in other locations in order to determine what motivates them to buy.

“I also think it’s crucial for business owners to question how well their organizations function when they aren’t present,” Lauren indicated. “If things lag when you aren’t there, how are you supposed to run multiple locations? No matter how good you are, you can’t be in two or more places at once!”
