Update: $100 Million Future Project for Lake Cumberland, KY
Somerset, KY, March 10, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Del Spina Enterprises has updated last months “News Announcement” releasing their effort to construct a 1,000,000 sq. ft. retail complex together with a 200-acre family entertainment center on their Phase I (300) acre parcel on Hwy-80 midway between the Pulaski and Laurel Counties. To put the size of the project in prospective, Phase I can be compared with an area of 226 combined football playing fields.

"The window of opportunity to provide thousands of new jobs and enormous tax revenue to Kentucky residents is available now, but this offer could be withdrawn at anytime, if other opportunities become available to the Developer."
Anthony Del Spina, Developer
To further entice the State to provide the required services, Miracle Mile Complex has announced they will begin Phase II construction immediately upon the completion of the infrastructure on Phase I, adding even more jobs and tax revenue upon the completion of the entire project.
Phase II is a separate 125-acre parcel, (Size of 94 additional football playing fields) is located directly across the highway from Phase I. This parcel also contains 2,000 linear feet of highway frontage and will utilize the State’s improvements provided for Phase I, without requiring additional State improvements. (Phase II plan is to attract a prestigious tenant requiring a large parcel, on the order of a food membership club or an outdoor sporting goods outlet.
Both Phase I and II are located in the center of Kentucky’s 700,000-acre Daniel Boone Forest. Neither project will interrupt the National Forest’s beauty or wildlife. The park’s adjoining location offers a 15-mile buffer to permit both London and Somerset to maintain their traditional hometown atmosphere for its residents.
The public’s support has been outstanding; Contractors in groves are requesting the opportunity to become part of project, TV newscasters requesting interviews, and Facebook followers posting the project news to friends at the speed of a computer virus.
The State is eager to generate new jobs and more tax revenue. Miracle Mile can achieve just that, for a fraction of cost it would require to improve the 30-mi Hwy-80 stretch. Without the State’s cooperation to provide these required services, it is doubtful any Developer would consider a project of this nature, in the foreseeable future.
Del Spina puts it short and sweet, “We can have bulldozers on site to start clearing the land in a heartbeat but that will not happen if Legislatures are not able to formally agree to provide needed services." To date, only Judge Executive Steve Kelly of Pulaski County appeared on local TV channel endorsing this project. We are hopeful Legislatures will publically come forward and express their support for this project. To date this has not happened.
To put this situation in perspective, Del Spina states, “The window of opportunity to provide thousands of new jobs and enormous tax revenue to Kentucky residents is available now, but this offer could be withdrawn at anytime, if other opportunities become available to the Developer.”
