Presenting their innovative “Eduroam” solution the video demonstrates why and how Wi-Fi is used to create a better environment for students to attract new entrants to the University of Bedfordshire.
Universities have to compete very hard to attract new students and maintain their funding. The AIT solution provides a great wireless experience for students, staff and visitors. It means they can stay connected whilst moving around the campus to download research or access social media.
As part of the UK University’s ambitious £115m expansion plans the new AIT solution uses 500 Aerohive 802.11ac access points in a controller-less WLAN integrated with ‘Eduroam’ authentication to enable staff, students and visitors seamless access to the network. The ability to roam, greater bandwidth, coverage and self-service provisioning of guest access have dramatically improved the user experience and reduced the number of support calls to the ICT service desk.
