Unique, Eco-Friendly Children's Stationery Line Designed by Mom Entrepreneur's Young Daughter
With a vision in her head of what children's personalized stationery should be, Carey Grund searched the market. When she came up empty handed, she and her daughter worked together to create an attractive and unique line of children'stationery.
Online, June 29, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Grund's seven-year-old daughter used her crayon to personally create each smilegram paper design now offered by her mother's company, Plaids and Polka Dots.
Grund paired her daughter's one-of-a-kind artwork with high quality, recycled materials and created a product that is fun for kids and also works to teach them the importance of handwritten notes.
Smilegram paper's mission is to help children turn creative thoughts into handwritten words. "I have always believed in teaching my children the importance of a hand written thank you note from a very early age," Grund said. "It is my goal to provide parents with a tool to allow their children to express their ever creative mind."
Smilegram paper comes in 16 different designs. The paper is high quality 70 lb. stock with a soft matte finish and is made from partially recycled materials. It measures 7 x 10 and packages contain 12 sheets with envelopes included. Each design can also be personalized with a child's name or special message.
Because the stationery is designed with a child's hand drawn artwork, the graphics are kid-friendly, bright and cheerful. According to Grund, it is also the only boutique style stationery that offers lined paper for guided handwriting. "Smilegram paper makes writing a handwritten note fun and easy," she said.
Grund also prides herself on building a company that is green and environmentally friendly. All of the paper goods are made from 70lb recycled materials. "Being a green company is very important to me," she said. "It is good for our environment and teaches our children to be conservative and recycle."
"My goals and mission are to produce quality products and bring them to market at a reasonable price," said Grund. As a mom entrepreneur, she feels as though she's helping other families by providing a high-quality, educational product, while still spending time with her own children. "It's exciting to hear from my customers about how smilegram paper has affected their lives."
