Two Local Professionals Use Social Media Venue to Interactively Share Advice

Simpson Square, located in the heart of Saratoga Springs, will host their first live tweet chat on the fundamentals of effective branding. Tune in tomorrow, June 6, at 2 p.m.

Simpson Square Media Group today announced that the Saratoga-based branded content and new media marketing firm is hosting their first live tweet chat on June 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. During the chat, Co-owners Michael Conlin and Daniel Clements will weigh in on the fundamentals of effective branding.

In the social media world, a tweet chat is an organized conversation focused around a unique hashtag. For their unique hashtag Simpson Square has selected #ThinkSquare, which is representative of the firm's belief that to connect, engage and ultimately influence your audience you have to creatively interact with them on their level and in their domain-their box.

"Creativity for the sake of being creative usually doesn't work, because most of life and most of what people experience doesn't happen outside the box," said Conlin. "So it's really about being creative with purpose. About understanding your audience and your goals...then working off of that."

With a combined 30 years of professional experience, Conlin and Clements will host four tweet chats during the month of June on the following topics: effective branding, web development, search engine optimization, and social media marketing. Each tweet chat will use the hashtag #ThinkSquare.

While the topics for this month have already been determined, Simpson Square will take suggestions for the topics of upcoming tweet chats. They welcome participants to tweet at them during or after the chats with suggestions, advice, comments and concerns.

"The tweet chats will give us the opportunity to continually build a strong social media following," said Clements. "It will also help us raise awareness of The Business Journals' Social Madness campaign."

Simpson Square is participating in Social Madness, which is a corporate media challenge designed to measure the growth of a company's social presence. The Business Review and its parent company, American City Business Journals, are conducting the contest, which began on June 1. Those who vote for Simpson Square will be entered to win a design package from BrandSprouter, which is a division of Simpson Square Media Group LLC.
