Tutors International Will Be Attending The IECA Conference In Atlanta, GA, To Discuss Post-Wilderness Options
Online, October 29, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Leading private tuition organisation, Tutors International (http://www.tutors-international.com), today announced that they will be attending the annual IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association) Conference to be held in Atlanta, GA, this coming November. As well as a vendor exhibition stand, Tutors International will be participating in the 'Information Swap' focused on Therapeutic and Behavioral Schools and Programs.
Adam Caller, Director of Tutors International and one of just two UK members of the IECA, commented:
"In the US, the options are reasonably limited for education consultants involved with students who, because of poor personal decisions or lifestyle choices, are experiencing problems with drugs or alcohol, or demonstrating antisocial behaviour.
"There tends to be a single accepted route - a wilderness program followed by residential boarding school. Our participation in this year's IECA conference's Information Swap enables us to present other pathways. We have found that private home tuition offers a viable, successful alternative; allowing children to remain at home, be mentored by a trusted, highly qualified private tutor, while removing them from their triggers."
Tutors International have been involved in US wilderness programs in the past, as private tuition can be an effective way to bridge the gap from the wilderness center to home, or to a therapeutic boarding school. The company also has plans to send highly qualified personal tutors to work alongside wilderness center staff, and can return home with the child to help them stay on track, and ease the transition back to school and normal life.
"There is no comprise to educational quality, and the child can stay at home but be in environment that takes them away from their triggers - but what is surprising to some people is that the cost of such a private tutor is often no more than the cost of a wilderness program or good private school. Specialised home tuition is not the preserve of the super-rich," added Mr Caller.
The IECA fall Conference will be held on November 8 - 10, 2012 (Thursday - Saturday)
in Atlanta, Georgia. You can find out more at http://www.educationalconsulting.org/conferences.html
