Titus Contracting Offers Help With Property Inspection Reports For Residents In Twin Cities
Online, December 19, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Titus Contracting, a Minneapolis residential and commercial remodeling firm, announced today it now offers help with various property inspection reports for clients in St Paul, Minneapolis and other communities in the Twin Cities, Minn. metro.
"When owners find themselves with a code compliance report, or if a landlord finds his or her property has a few deficiencies detailed in a fire inspection report, we work to help them figure out the most cost effective, yet structurally appropriate, course of action to complete the repairs," said Scott Rajavuori, Titus Contracting's design manager. "Maybe it's just a remodeling item not appropriate because of the property's age, like an Egress window or height issues with the room."
Rajavuori and owner Lee Lawrence said the company has gone before city councils when appeals were denied, defending their clients. In one instance, Rajavuori spoke before the St. Paul City Council representing a client who had a property on Reaney Avenue. The city determined that the living space did not have an adequate percentage of space to meet head room height mandated by the state building code. After being denied the appeal at the first appearance hearing, Rajavuori took the matter before the city council arguing on behalf of the owner. They city council saw fit to grant the variance and allowed the property owner to continue using this room in their St Paul property as a legal bedroom. Rajavuori said his knowledge in the industry has led many clients to have him speak on their behalf at city council meetings.
Lawrence said that when clients sell their properties in cities like Minneapolis, St Paul, St Louis Park and Golden Valley, they receive a code compliance or truth in housing report. "We help homeowners decipher what the report is saying," Lawrence said. "Then, we put together a course of action and budget, and get the required work repaired."
Both Lawrence and Rajavuori noted they have years of home improvement experience, and expertise in dealing with cities and their code compliance and truth in housing reports. Additionally, both noted Titus Contracting is lead certified, and can assist when
lead is present in homes and other structures built before 1978.
Titus Contracting recently launched its new commercial remodeling website, online at http://www.tituscontracting.com, while its residential services can be found at www.homeremodelers.com.
The company also recently joined the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association.
