Writers of science fiction, historical fiction, contemporary otherworlds, and magical realism have a new short story market. The Time Yarns shared world universe will launch a series of novels and short story anthologies edited by Erin Lale, author of Asatru For Beginners, who was the publisher and editor of Berserkrgangr Magazine in the 90s. Lale says, "If you go back and look at Berserkrgangr Magazine's short stories and poetry, you can see I was ahead of the curve on publishing contemporary otherworlds fiction before the subgenre had even been named. After the demise of the print literary magazine and the rise of e-publishing, anthologies are the new wave for the short story form. I also have a track record of identifying new talent and publishing early work by writers who go on to publish books and have successful writing careers, such as Sue Isle, P.K. Graves, and Gordon Yaswen. Although Time Yarns is not a paying market, it will offer a lot of exposure for new writers to jump-start their careers, and for mid-career writers to generate interest in the writers' other books."

Lale has already accepted one short story for the first anthology, "The End of History" by Gordon Yaswen, a writer she published in several issues of Berserkrgangr Magazine. The anthologies will be Amazon Kindle Store exclusives. Time Yarns has an official site on Google Sites, but Lale advises interested writers to contact her directly to receive the Shared World Guide and information on shared world continuity with other stories as the universe develops.
