Three New Installation Options and Price Reduction Announced for Housing Sentry
UnderWater Camera Stuff announced a $100 reduction in the price of the Housing Sentry. The Housing Sentry continuously monitors the status of an underwater camera housing alerting the Photographer/Videographer if there is a seal/leak problem.
Online, January 23, 2011 (Newswire.com) - UnderWater Camera Stuff announced that a savings in manufacturing costs is allowing for a $100 reduction in the price of the Housing Sentry. The Housing Sentry continuously monitors the status of an underwater camera housing alerting the Photographer/Videographer if there is a seal problem that could lead to a flood. The new price for the complete system is $699 USD.
When the Housing Sentry was initially released in August 2010, two installation options were available and both required that a new opening be made in the housing. Three new customized fittings have been developed so the Housing Sentry may also be installed in existing bulkhead openings. Fittings have been adapted for (1) an unused half-inch bulkhead, (2) a bulkhead with an unused Nikonos connector and (3) an unused bulkhead in a Nauticam housing. Making use of an existing bulkhead opening simplifies the installation process. "These customized fittings were developed so that Photographers/Videographers reluctant to add another opening to their housing can enjoy the peace of mind that the Housing Sentry delivers. We will develop additional customized fittings as new installation options are identified", stated Bill Libecap, founder of UnderWater Camera Stuff.
The vacuum created by the Housing Sentry system provides a tight seal of all o-rings and housing parts and activates the electronics that continuously monitor and report the housing's status. This allows the Photographer/Videographer to know, before entering the water, that the seals of their housing are either good or compromised.
