Thirsty Agency Launches SoFi Stadium's Newest NCAA Matchup, the 'LA Bowl'
PASADENA, Calif., July 16, 2020 (Newswire.com) - Los Angeles-based Thirsty Agency was selected in September of 2019 to create the logo and brand identity for the newest NCAA Division bowl game to be played at the forthcoming SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park.
Thirsty Agency worked closely with the team at SoFi Stadium (the new home of the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams), and Hollywood Park (a 298-acre sports and entertainment destination), alongside the Mountain West & Pac-12 Conferences, to develop a logo identity for the new LA Bowl that captures a true Southern California experience and the heart of college football.
"There are so many elements involved in how we want to speak to the brand in terms of capturing Los Angeles and the glitz of Hollywood within the football realm … Everyone thinks they've done a wonderful job of interpreting what we're looking for."
Anjali Raval, Sr Director of Marketing - SoFi Stadium
The logo was publicly launched at a press event at SoFi Stadium on Feb. 26, 2020. Thirsty Agency also produced a 45-second sizzle video to launch the brand. Opening this summer, SoFi Stadium will seat approximately 70,000, expandable up to 100,000, with more than 260 luxury suites, and more than 13,000 premium seats, making it one of the larger stadiums to host a bowl game.
The LA Bowl will be played annually, starting in December 2020 through at least 2025, featuring the top selection from the Mountain West Conference and the No. 5 selection from the Pac-12 Conference, with events for the teams, their families, fans and locals in the week leading up to the game.
