Therese Franzese Joins Metro Health as Director of Case Management and Social Work

Online, June 2, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Wyoming, Michigan -- Michigan native Therese Franzese has joined Metro Health as its new director of case management and social work.

She brings more than 23 years of experience, including 16 in case management, to her new role with the Wyoming, Michigan-based community hospital. Franzese will be responsible for the efficient and effective operations of case management, utilization review, pre-admission screening, care coordination, social work and discharge planning.

Prior to joining Metro Health, she served as disease case manager for Freedom Health Care in Tampa. In this role, she was responsible for telephonic disease management for more than 110,000 Medicare and Medicaid patients in three states. She served in a similar position for Aetna, also in Tampa.

Franzese has worked for several acute-care hospitals and regional medical centers in roles of increasing administrative responsibility. She has extensive experience in supervision, budgeting, project development, training, mentoring and quality management.

Additionally, Franzese has 14 years of clinical nursing experience at hospitals in Michigan and Florida. She has worked in medical-surgical units, intensive care and various pediatric units. She also served on the nursing faculty of Keiser Career College in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Franzese holds a bachelor of science in nursing from Wayne State University and a master of science in health care administration from Central Michigan University.

A native of Lake Orion, Michigan, she now resides in East Grand Rapids.
