Author Theresa Edwards loves children and has five of her own. Now that she is a grandmother of three, she hopes to spend more time with them, exploring many adventures through her writing. Theresa currently resides in Harvey, Louisiana, with her family, including her chickens, a cat, three Chihuahua dogs, and two finches. She has been hosting exchange students from different countries for over seven years, and they currently call her Mom. Theresa is originally from Jamaica and is an avid reader. She hopes her grandchildren will follow in her footsteps of exploring the world through reading. Theresa is well known by her community for her ministry of love through her cooking and her healing teas. She is often found caring for individuals who need medical attention at home.

Theresa Edwards begins her story, writing, "Lali went to see Grandma for the weekend. Grandma lived on a farm. She had berries, beehives, chickens, a goat named Willie, a very beautiful peacock named Pretty, and a dog named Spud. Grandma was very happy to see Lali. Lali brought Grandma her favorite treat from the city: pecan pralines. Grandma made Lali her favorite snack: corn crisps."
