Theme and Programme for Global Black Pride 2022 Announced
NEW YORK, April 6, 2022 (Newswire.com) - "Honouring Our Past, Securing Our Future" has been announced as the theme for this year's Global Black Pride, scheduled to take place from July 27-31 in Toronto, Canada.
The theme "is a testament to our principles of being unapologetically Black in our positioning, where we are committed to collectively and courageously working for freedom and justice for all Black LGBTIQ people," Global Black Pride's Vice President Rikki Nathanson said.
Founded in 2020, Global Black Pride is the first global Pride event that brings together Black LGBTQI+ communities across all continents to celebrate culture and diversity, providing a space for activists and organizations to engage and reflect.
The 2022 edition will be the first-ever physical programming done in partnership with Toronto-based Blackness Yes! as well as Pride Toronto, which organizes the annual Pride festivities, and Global Black Pride.
