The World's Best Amenity Kits Revealed

The world's airlines, on-board amenity suppliers and global cosmetic brands gathered to celebrate the very best Airline Amenity Kits gifted to passengers onboard during 2015. The 6th Annual TravelPlus Airline Amenity Bag Awards took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, with winners being announced across fourteen specially selected categories. Entries ranged from First Class and Premium Economy, through to Children's Goody bags, and the exclusive Private Jet Kits.

​​The world’s airlines, on-board amenity suppliers and global cosmetic brands gathered to celebrate the very best Airline Amenity Kits gifted to passengers onboard during 2015. The 6th Annual TravelPlus Airline Amenity Bag Awards took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, with winners being announced across fourteen specially selected categories. Entries ranged from First Class and Premium Economy, through to Children’s Goody bags, and the exclusive Private Jet Kits. 

Over 100 entries from more than 40 of the world’s leading airlines competed for the ultimate seal of passenger approval. Judging took place in early February when a panel of frequent flyers were assembled and split into category specific focus groups depending of their travel profile. 

The World’s Best First Class Kits received the Gold Seal of passenger approval for 2015 

First Class Female Kit: Saudi Arabian Airlines with its Salvatore Ferragamo designed kit, which can double as an elegant evening bag

First Class Male Kit: Lufthansa – with an exclusively designed Bogner bag with cosmetics from La Praire giving that extra touch of comfort.

First Class Female Kit: Air France – teamed up with Givenchy to provide a branded kit containing a range of Givenchy 'Les soins noirs' products, including a face cream, an anti-fatigue eye cream, hand cream and lip balm

The world’s best Business Class Kits from across the globe were represented in force at this year’s ceremony. The Awards reflect passenger’s regional cultures, as well as the global airlines level of investment into providing amenity kits. To ensure that the bags are judged fairly, with their target audience in mind the Business Class categories are sub-divided into the following regions:

Europe/Africa: Virgin Atlantic kit designed by the hip Canadian lifestyle brand Hershel, come’s in two innovative, functional designs, along with the Rituals skincare products.

The Middle East: Etihad Airways with a kit containing customised LUXE City Guide that corresponds to the showcased city. Plus cosmetics from skincare brand Scaramouche + Fandango for that extra touch of luxury and pampering.

The Americas: Hawaiian Airways have partnered with one of Hawai'I's most popular apparel/graphic designers, Manuheali'i' for this tri-fold canvas kit with products from private label skincare brand Lōli'i.

Asia/Australasia: All Nippon Airways teamed up with L'Occitane providing a kit that is designed with uncomplicated luxury and neutral tones matching perfectly with the unique and authentic Japanese style of the airline.

The TravelPlus Airline Amenity Bag Awards celebrate the most luxurious, and most innovative offerings in the world of on-board amenity kits. Over the last six years TravelPlus have become the leading voice in what the passenger wants whilst travelling. These awards seek to push amenities into the future in terms of fabric, design and content by opening conversation and debate. It is an exciting time for air travel, so who knows what the future might hold.

About the Awards: The TravelPlus Airline Amenity Bag Awards Ceremony was held on the evening of 5th April 2016 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Hamburg and attended by over one hundred VIP guests form the airline industry.The TravelPlus Airline Amenity Bag Awards are the only independent global industry event celebrating excellence in Airline Amenity Kits, Sleeper Suits and Children’s Goody Bags. The Awards are open to all global airlines operating both scheduled and non-scheduled services, internationally or domestically, as well as organisations  suppliers and designers of airline amenities. Importantly the Awards are not aligned to any association or Guild, and as such are a true barometer of the trends within the Onboard Amenity Sector. 

Judged by passenger focus groups, with those involved having the relative travel experience for the categories they evaluate. TravelPlus believe that using smaller judging panels of experienced travellers, ensures that the Amenity Bag Awards remain fair and impartial, and keep the most important perspective at their root, that of the passenger. 

The 2015 awards received over 100 entries from over 40 of the world airlines and judged in 14 categories including Private Jet, First and Business Class, Overnight Kits, Children’s Goody Bags and Sleeper Suits. (A full list of categories is available on request)
