The Tiny Babies Foundation's 'Miracles Of Breastmilk' Seminar Offers New Moms Tools To Fight Obesity

No one is immune from understanding the facts of how breastfeeding can help their families to prevent obesity. The Tiny Babies Foundation is doing their part with their free seminar, The Miracles of Breast Milk.

Atlanta Moms and Dads with children under 18 months are welcomed by the Tiny Babies Foundation.

With the expanded national conversation on obesity prevention, no one is immune from understanding the facts of how breastfeeding can help their families to prevent obesity. The Tiny Babies Foundation is doing their part with their new seminar, The Miracles of Breast Milk, as a specific tool to support Moms and Dads with children under 18 months. The seminar will be held Saturday, October 23, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel Atlanta Airport, One Hartsfield Centre Parkway, Atlanta, Georgia 30354. Admission to the seminar is free.

"It has really been a labor of passion to create this seminar that can truly help Moms and Dads on a number of levels to understand why we believe breast milk is a miracle for children and families," says Lavonia Nelson, President Tiny Babies Foundation.

"Breast milk helps to fight off colds, infections, prevent obesity, reduces the risks of diseases such as breast cancer, and so much more. While you can read basics on the internet, coming out to a seminar like ours is the way Moms and Dads can get direct answers to the specifics they need to know from a range of experts on the topic. They can ask questions and get the facts about how it all works. This is what we've created in this seminar. Now we're inviting all of these new Moms and Dads to come out."

The dynamic and expert speaking panel will cover a full 360 on the topic including: breast milk benefits vs. formula, breastfeeding awareness, breast milk and obesity along with where and how to donate; and breast milk and breast cancer. Door prizes will also be available.

Early Atlanta partners who have products and services available for new families include: Wal-Mart, Target, BJs Princeton Lakes Pediatrics, and Splendid Images. Media support has been a proactive mosaic of Radio One's 107.5, V-103.3, and Gospel WYZE Radio 1480. Hospital organizations including Grady Memorial, South Fulton, Crawford Long, Emory University, and DeKalb Medical are encouraging their patients to participate in this community outreach initiative along with the regional WIC offices and 10 churches who are bringing awareness to their congregations.

"We are so proud to have these organizations believe in the benefits of the Miracles of Breast Milk and the information that our speakers can share with new Moms and Dads."

A limited amount of exhibitors may also confirm their participation if they believe they have products or services that will increase the success of Moms & Dads as parents.
