The Sukhothai Heritage Resort Receives Two Prestigious Energy Awards
Sukhothai Heritage Resort has recently been awarded the 2013 ASEAN Energy in the category of Best Practices for Energy Efficient Buildings, after having also recently being awarded the 2013 Thailand Energy Award in the same category.
Online, October 18, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The Unique Collection of Hotels and Resorts is proud to announce that the Sukhothai Heritage Resort has recently been awarded the 2013 ASEAN Energy in the category of Best Practices for Energy Efficient Buildings, after having also recently being awarded the 2013 Thailand Energy Award in the same category from the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency of the Thai Ministry of Energy.
Thailand's Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra presented the Thailand Energy Award to Mr. Roannayutt Oan-Oon, Sukhothai Heritage Resort Manager, at Thai Government House. A total of 263 hotels participated in the event.
After receiving a 2013 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award earlier this year, this is the 2nd award the resort has received and is the first time that Sukhothai Heritage Resort has participated in this event. Consequently, the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency submitted the Sukhothai Heritage Resort as one of Thailand's nominations for the 2013 ASEAN Energy Award whereby the resort won its third award for the Best Practices Competition for Energy Efficient Building in the same category.

The Thailand Energy Awards have been established by the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency, Ministry of Energy in order to honor and give recognition to those who have outstanding performance in energy-serving and renewable-energy development. Their goal is to foster more awareness of energy-savings to the government and private sectors and encourage more alternative-energy development and to elect a representative of the country to participate in the ASEAN Energy Awards competition.
