The Seychelles National Expo 2013

The Seychelles National Expo took place on the 16th - 18th of June in Mahe.

To celebrate and commemorate the 20th anniversary of Seychelles National Day the country hosted a National Expo which aimed to showcase the major activities which shape the national economy and show the process of national development.

The event which took place on the 16th to the 18th of June on a national scale highlighted what the country has to offer, such as local goods, and businesses and organisations both local and private showed commitment to the Seychelles economy and the future of the country. The event is great for tourists as it truly shows what the Seychelles has to offer both nationally and internationally.

The event was accompanied by sporting and cultural events and took place at the Roche Caiman Sports complex in Mahe. Some of the activities included sales of local agriculture and horticulture and exhibitions from the tourism industry showcasing what they have to offer in terms of tourism in the Seychelles. Local manufacturers and traders included those from Bazar Victoria and Bazar Labrin selling and exhibiting their goods.

To entertain those who visited the event there was groups of performing artists providing dance and music both local and international. There was also sporting activities, such as a range of football matches, and world cup matches displayed on a big screen. Boat rides, helicopter rides, glass bottom boats and games were also on offer for visitors. The cuisine was excellent, with lots of traditional Creole dishes to tingle the tastebuds.

The National Expo is a really fun and interesting couple of days in the Seychelles and is a fantastic way for tourists to experience what the Seychelles has to offer.
