The Seychelles National Art Gallery

The Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St Ange, has announced that the National Art Gallery will move back to its original building in the National Cultural Centre.

The Gallery had been closed for a short while to make way for the National History Museum and the area will now go back to the artists for revolving exhibitions and for permanent exhibitions of the country's National Arts Collection.

Mr St Ange commented "Today the artists are happy that they are being given a permanent place to display their artworks. The gallery will fall within National Arts Council administration. In the pipeline the Ministry is also looking at the possibility of compiling a book on Seychelles National Arts Collection which the public will be able to buy for their personal collections".

The Minister has thanked the artists for their co-operation and understanding, and the Seychelles artistic scene can now once again flourish.

The National Arts Council of Seychelles is a corporate body responsible for coordinating the arts at all levels and for all persons in Seychelles. It works in solidarity with artists associations and individuals in promoting artistic creations and development in all the arts practised in Seychelles.
