The Scott Practice's Principal, Debra Scott, JD, MPH, to Speak at the GSCPAs 2016 Not-for-Profit Conference
Atlanta, Georgia , May 10, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Debra Scott, Principal of The Scott Practice, LLC, has been invited to speak at the 3rd Annual Georgia Society of CPAs Not-for-Profit Conference on Filling-Up the Fund Development “GAAP”: A Close Examination of Fund Development vs. GAAP. This year's event will take place on May 11, 2016 at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. Debra Scott will be among other top nonprofit advisors speaking on financial issues of significance within the nonprofit industry.
In its third year, the 2016 Not-for-Profit Conference provides nonprofit accountants, financial advisors and other nonprofit professionals with up-to-date information and greater comprehension of critical financial issues confronting nonprofit organizations. The keynote speaker at the event will be Alicia Philipp of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta.
Debra will be speaking on the inherent tension existing between fund development and accounting and will walk attendees through the history, various perspectives and standards that have left us at our current state, along with sharing possible ways to promote greater unification in reporting of fundraising activity.
