This November, The Oncology Institute hit a milestone of opening 160 clinical trials and enrolling 1,000 patients over the past 8 years. Clinical trials play an active part in patient health care. Patients gain access to new research treatments before they are widely available, obtain expert medical care at one of their leading health care facilities during the trial, and help others by contributing to medical research. The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation has proudly played a role in the FDA approval of several cancer treatment drugs and in addition, is awaiting on others to be approved by the FDA.
In 2014 and 2015, The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation was named the top enroller in the nation in four trials. They also have publications at the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposiums annual meetings.
