The New BMW 5 Series 2016 Paris Motor Show Release

shenzhen, November 27, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Recently, some foreign media reported that the new generation BMW 5 Series will be officially unveiled during the opening of the Paris Motor Show in October 2016, and the first listing in 2017 in the European market. In addition, the new 5 Series Touring and GT models will be released in the 2017 Geneva Motor Show or Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new BMW 5 Series will be based on CLAR platform to build, the previous listed the new 7 Series also come from the same platform. Benefit from the new platform, the new 5 Series is expected to have a lighter body weight as like the new 7 Series, it  reported that the vehicle weight will reduce about 100kg. In addition, the new 5 Series will also use a lot of design and configuration from the new 7 Series, including full LCD instrument panel, center console large-size LCD display screen, gesture control system, the new 7 Series compelling driving assistance system is also may be appearance in the new 5 Series.

In power, the new 5 Series will continue to equipped with 2.0T and 3.0T gasoline engine, in addition it is expected to be powered by a 1.5L three-cylinder turbocharged engine. In terms of diesel engines, earlier reports said BMW will be build a 3.0T four turbo diesel engine, this engine also may be used on the new 5 Series M550xd models, the maximum power of about 408 horsepower and peak torque of about 750 Nm. In addition, the new M5 will be equipped with 4.4L V8 twin-turbo engine, the engine's maximum power of 626 horsepower.

In test, the new BMW 5 Series will still use the new generation BMW ICOM A2+B+C diagnostic & program tool to diagnosis all the system, but need the BMW ISTA Rheingold software to be the latest 10.2015.
