The MB Group Earns Highest Possible Public Accounting Peer Review Rating
Online, September 8, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The MB Group, a leading professional services and consulting firm based North Texas, announced today that they have received the highest possible rating for services and quality control as a result of an independent peer review of the Company's auditing and accounting practices.
The Peer Review process is mandatory for public accounting firms providing auditing and accounting services, and the new standards adopted in early 2009 place an unconditional obligation on accounting firms to establish a system of quality control designed to provide reasonable assurance that the firm and its personnel comply with professional standards and applicable regulatory and legal requirements. Peer review for The MB Group, LLC included evaluations of quality control policies and procedures, interviews with company personnel, and reviews of accounting and auditing engagement records.
"We are proud to have earned the highest rating under the new quality control standards," says Mike McClain, CPA, Principal-in-charge of the firm's Assurance Services department, and 17-year veteran auditor. "Our peer review rating is another example of our firm's commitment to excellence and that we are dedicated to upholding the standards that are fundamental to our clients and our profession."
This distinction comes on the heels of The MB Group being selected as the overall winner of the 6th Annual Comerica Collin 60 in June. This award is given to a private company in Collin County, Texas that posts exceptional growth rates and brings new ideas and jobs to the marketplace.
