The Honorable Councilman Curtis Jones Jr. to Deliver Keynote Address at Philly TV Festival

The 2-day event showcases and celebrates the television and film industries through panels, workshops, and short film screenings

Media professionals are in for a powerful experience thanks to the Inaugural Philly TV Festival (PTVF) being held at PhillyCam Studios, Friday November 14th, 2014. The two-day event will kick off with Councilman Curtis Jones Jr. presenting the Philly TV Festival with a citation during the City Council meeting on Thursday, November 13th, 2014. The conference will conclude on Saturday, November 15th, 2014 with award presentations for short film submissions.

The Honorable Councilman Jones Jr. a noted expert on community-based economic development, and 4th district representative shares a vision to introduce, educate, and expose attendees to the business of multimedia and how to take charge of the images being seen in media.  The keynote address will be live streamed on PhillyCAM beginning at 12:00 pm.

PTVF creators’ media vet and director Ray Lerro, and producer, host, director, and celebrity stylist Charles Gregory felt Philadelphia needed a platform to celebrate and discuss the importance of the television and film industries, and how to pitch projects to major networks.  The two brought in a collective of PhillyCam members with over thirty-years of combined experience in the film and television industries to help shape the PTVF vision.

Following the panel discussions, there will be a screening of video submissions and a chance to network amongst panelist and attendees.

About Philly TV Festival:

The Philly TV Festival was created to help independently produced television and short film artists hone their craft, improve their program development, distribution processes, and create an environment to foster creativity. We aim to showcase content creators material, and help them network with those that are within their interest or production which may offer them opportunities to show their content to their desired markets. The Philly TV Festival is not organized by PhillyCam, but is organized independently by PhillyCam members under the non-profit organization Change Is Inc.
